Re: Keeping the i3, Bought an ID.4...

Just took a ride in a friend's newly delivered ID.4 1st Edition and was quite impressed. Excellent build quality. Nice job on the display screens. Quiet and solid. Huge glass roof, which makes it feel quite airy inside. Lots of room including leg room in the back. Was quite surprised to find that it...

Re: Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

I'll admit that the only thing I really use the connected services for is to "climatize" the vehicle, but I use that often enough in the winter or hot summer that it really makes me angry to be losing that feature. I do have the panic button my remote configured to climatize the vehicle but that obv...

Re: Optional ConnectedDrive services no longer available in store

I haven't received such a letter. Yet... But that stinks... I just heard that FCA is going to be offering a 4G upgrade for my 2013 RAM truck, although I haven't seen the price yet. Seems like BMW could do the same.

Re: Anyone else having issues with BMW connect App not working?

For what it's worth, the app is working for me on my Android phone. Art is located in Hawaii but I'm located in Oregon which may be the same market area as you, although I really don't know for sure. Sounds like it may be specific to your phone but you've already tried the obvious things so I'm not ...

Re: Driving on Gas only.. Can I drive 200 miles

After coding, mine changes from standard time to daylight savings time automatically and seems to keep correct time inbetween. But I agree, even in my older 2014 i3, this should be the standard method of operation in any BMW. My 2013 Ram truck does it automatically and I didn't have to resort to cod...

Re: Successfully soft close doors retrofit

Thanks for the additional info. Is the electrical work that is required simply tapping in to the existing harness to provide power to the latch? A hot wire and a ground to the latch are all that are required?

Re: Successfully soft close doors retrofit

So you used latches from a 7 series, huh? In addition to buying the latches, what did you have to do? Were they a direct bolt-in replacement or did you have to do any modifications to the door? Are they self contained (i.e., just install them and they work) or do you have to program/code the car?

Re: Successfully soft close doors retrofit

How would this modification prevent a door from being slammed shut by a person who didn't know to carefully close the door so that the soft-close mechanism could complete the close? It doesn't. I have driven BMW's with soft close doors and you can still slam them. It's just that you no longer have ...
