Re: Pedestrian warning Noise , in reverse

There is NO "Pedestrian warning noise, in reverse" in my US version 2019 BEV.

Re: i3 Radiators

I have a 2019 BEV and can tell you that the 2019 BEV definitely HAS the up/down horizontal "flaps" in front of the A/C condenser. Sometimes those are not shown in the diagrams for parts, etc.

I do not know about the comparable REX.

Stay safe.

Re: Does a 2017 use a heat pump?

Folks, I just checked and my 2019 I3 BEV does NOT have a HEAT PUMP listed. (checked on the decoder.com) . I do have heated seats, driver/pass side (which of course are not needed/nor used in Honolulu). When I ordered the I3 last June, I honestly cannot remember if a HEAT PUMP was an available option...

Re: Newbie

Thanks to the advice provided by alohart here in Hawaii several months ago, I have been using the physical key when I go into the ocean about twice a month or so. I went to the dealer and bought another cover (unpainted) and I use that one at the beach instead of my more valuable painted cover in ca...

Re: Front Passenger Door Won't Fully Open

I had the same thing exactly happen two days ago with my Drivers side door. Wind blew it out of my hand when opening it and it went all the way fully open with a really LOUD CRACK!. I was sure I had broken it. However, the door seems to operate normally, nothing appears to be out of alignment or dam...

Re: Ordered a 2020 i3s...changing options?

My dealership was able to change my order six days after I made my initial order on my 2019 BEV.

Re: Manual Key Operation with Cover

Hmmm....... an excellent idea! Too bad that BMW did not think of that for starters. I could just use it on "beach" days and put the regular cover on most of the time. But I also have the "Comfort Access" on my I3, does that have some effect on the cover? Are you thinking that the magnetism would eff...

Re: Manual Key Operation with Cover

Thanks again Mark. I might have to resort to the "lock box" solution. I think you are right about the non-everyday use for the key. I did find an I3 expert who showed me how to undo/do the cover. Apparently the technique required varies by age of the vehicle but for mine it involves inserting the ke...

Re: Manual Key Operation with Cover

Thanks Mark. The video does show the correct procedure. But apparently does not work on my I3. With mine, I can press up as hard (or gently) as I want while also altering the direction slightly. Nothing. I have tried both sides of the I3, same result. BACKGROUND: My reason for needing to use the sma...

Manual Key Operation with Cover

I am trying to use the metal key for my I3 which requires first opening the cover that is just behind the door handle. I have tried to insert the "metal Key" as shown in the Drivers Manual but it does not allow the cover to "unclick" and allow use of the metal key. BMW Genius had no answer. Is there...
