Re: New i3 in US?

https://kilter.com/search?brand=BMW&line=i3 That's a great site! Thanks for sharing it -- I really like their map display. Beats Autolist by a wide margin. I bet I'll never remember the site name though. This i3 was just listed today. It's a February build and has Harman Kardon audio -- AFAIK the o...

Re: New i3S Rex available in SW Ohio

Agreed. And FWIW I'm really pleased w/ iDrive 6 in the 2021. Not as good as Android Auto, but good enough that I don't miss its absence.

Re: New i3S Rex available in SW Ohio

Ok, but FM radio is a dead man walking, so to speak, and they added Car Play (but not Android Auto, those bastards) which kind of makes up for it.

In any case, it wasn't as if the HK option was a freebie. Once they announced it was off the order books, the HK cars got snapped up quickly.

Re: New i3S Rex available in SW Ohio

On their UK site, under the package that includes HK, they're saying "Temporary restrictions may affect the content availability in the pack, please check with your BMW Retailer for further information." I'm wondering if some of the delayed orders I've read about included HK and have therefore been ...

Re: New i3S Rex available in SW Ohio

I find it interesting that out of 9 currently listed on Car Gurus, 3 of those listings were for sale back in July / August when I was searching and eventually purchased. Studio City was asking a $5000 markup if I recall correctly -- I wonder if the others are doing similar attempting to cash in on a...

Re: Anyone else having issues with BMW connect App not working?

When I read accounts such as yours, I think the app gets short shrift when it's really the final mile — the cellular connection — that is to blame. I don't understand why. Whether it's the fault of the car or of the coverage are or of the cell provider. I don't know if it can be fixed. The app had i...

Re: Ordered a new i3s - Debating the ACC - Opinions?

I prefer ACC in flowing traffic or on open highways. In stop-and-go, it's a bit of a bear, even though it handles full braking to a stop and restarts. The camera (I believe) is just a little slow to pick up subtle movements and to judge distance precisely, and the smallest gap it leaves is larger th...

Re: Ordered a new i3s - Debating the ACC - Opinions?

I switched from a 2017 to a 2021 and the ACC has been refined enough that it's notably better, though still not great. It works, and I use it often. The throttle operation is smoother, lane change indications "break" deceleration while passing a slower vehicle, and the camera has fewer disconnects. ...
