Re: Can not open the rear trunk

I've seen reference to "a hole a screwdriver can be inserted into" to manually actuate the latch, but I just looked and... well, there are 4 screws around the latch, but non of them look like they're covering an access port. I've had a piece of fabric get stuck between the latch and the bracket, cau...

Re: Keeping the i3, Bought an ID.4...

Having come out of a Volvo S60 that we were quite happy with, we would have both loved to stick with the brand or Polestar. But alas, both fell short in our eyes, for our needs. There is no denying the ID.4's value proposition, but the low price was just bonus, as my wife and i didn't feel there wer...

Re: BMW i3 Resale Value

There's the persistent story of an instant $10,000 discount off a new i3 just for sneezing politely. True? I don't know, but if so, drives down the used market value when an interested buyer is comparing new vs. 2 year lease return. Then of course there's the $7,500 federal tax credit, plus another ...

Re: Anyone having luck with new "My BMW" appon Android phone?

A feature stealthily added just last week is charging history. Location and time of use based rates can be applied, and the app will now keep an approximate running tally of running costs. Nice to see some long overdue attention being paid to the app!

Re: Anyone having luck with new "My BMW" appon Android phone?

I've never found BMW's implementation of this app to be great. The new app still takes multiple minutes for a command to succeed or fail and it still fails at an unacceptable rate... I think those delays and failures have nothing to do with the app and everything to do with their backend network an...

Re: Anyone having luck with new "My BMW" appon Android phone?

Works flawlessly on my LG V60 running Android 11. FWIW I prefer the new app though it doesn't offer much over the old app.

Re: 2014 /May BMWI3 12volt battery 7 years old no issue

I think it comes down to the "Your mileage may vary" disclaimer. I really don't know. I imagine the biggest stress in the 12 volt battery is hot and cold extremes, or maybe depletion due to long periods between drives. If I had to guess I'd think the load placed on this battery is fairly consistent ...

Re: Buying a used i3 94 Ah

Well congrats on turning that around and hopefully you're not out-of-pocket too much considering you're got some added range in the replacement. I suspect part of the shipping cost is there's a huge demand for truck drivers of all sorts at the moment, and drivers are going to go where the money is. ...

Re: Greetings from the other side of a HV battery warranty replacement.

I'd like to think they're not new old stock. Lithium Ion batteries have a shelf life of sorts -- they need to be maintained periodically. I'd imagine it's expensive to manufacture, warehouse, and maintain a battery pack with the possibility of it degrading, vs. just custom assembling one (or a small...

That's awesome!

I take it your screen continues to indicate 3G?

Now the question, how to work with BMW to get the parts at a fair discount.
