Re: intermittent (soft) knock & intermittent (one time so far) labored steering

Got it back from BMW SF. Soft knocking --- It turns out that it was not the car. I am clearly not the brightest bulb on this forum. The noise was coming from my Thinkware U1000 dash cam. When the noise first appeared more often (about June 2020), i called the supplier to get some feedback on the das...

intermittent (soft) knock & intermittent (one time so far) labored steering

Got 2 problems. Plan on bringing it into BMW SF (still have about 12 months left on original warranty). Before i do, i am looking to this community for a bit more insight before bringing it in. Problem 1: Purchased October 31, 2019. Soft knocking sound seems to occur during hard acceleration during ...

Re: Some random thoughts about our i3

JohnWasser's posting surprised me a bit.... I too have/had a 2002 MiniCooper S. I put 170k on it and have just given it to my nephew's daughter. My garage space is small because of shelving on both sides. I have had to modify my side to fit my 2017 i3 REx. Even though parking in the garage is a new ...

Re: replacing windshield -- any BMW service needed after replacement?

BMW SF called me back and let me know that re-calibration is about a half-day exercise. About $250. We will find out.

Re: replacing windshield -- any BMW service needed after replacement?

Ok. Picked up the car yesterday and spoke with the lead tech assigned to replacing my windshield. He claims that they have done a lot of BMW's (including) i3's at the Redwood City location. Looks like new and the edges look clean. BMW logo on the glass near VIN. No car washes (i use spray bottle les...

Re: replacing windshield -- any BMW service needed after replacement?

Ugh...thanx for reminding me. :o

I believe that i am one of the first (if not the first) to have an i3 windshield replaced at the Safelite-Redwood City location. Say prayers for me please. Let's hope my evening post will be a happy one.
