Re: Front Radiator Louvers?

With a 2019 BEV I have found that to get the the vanes in an open position so I can examine the condenser area, I have to start the I3 and turn on A/C full with the temperature set to the lowest level (I think it is 60 degrees). After about after 1-2 minutes of this, I shut the car off without chan...

Re: First Day Trip in the ’21 BEV

That's pretty good and expected if you drive normally. I actually saw 215 miles fully charged EV range with my previous 2019 i3s REX. I now get around 140-150 miles fully charged with my 2018 i3s BEV.

Re: i3 Motor/gearbox failure... help!

But I think the rule for all BMWs is only ever have one under warranty. They're too expensive when they go wrong, and they go wrong a lot. Most of us have BMW i3's out of warranty, without any issues. For every one post of major repair, are thousands who could post they have had no out of warranty ...

That's a great site besides it going around in circles lol. I couldn't figure out where to order the part from? Unless that's now what the site is capable of.

Re: Worthy Warranty Request?

Ah, those links work. I've had similar peeling on my 2014, but in a different location. I asked them to fix it but the fix didn't last for long and I dropped the issue. That said, this car is new to you, yes? If so, I'd definitely mention this to your Service Advisor. It's a 2018 but still under wa...

Re: Worthy Warranty Request?

Pics didn't work for me but in general, if the car is under warranty I would always ask BMW to fix any defect. BMW will even replace wiper blades under warranty – as long as it's presented to your service adviser as "the windshield wipers are not properly clearing window" (or similar). A simple req...

Sounds like a good decision, Arm.

The dealer did not make the additional warranty clear, from what I recall, when I inquired about the service.
They usually don't but pretty much any work they do is backed by 12 months, 12 miles. It's pretty standard unless things have changed.

Re: 12v battery dying?

Frankly speaking, I was considering doing it too but given how many steps are involved and the whole "coding" thing, it's much much easier for me to take it to the dealer and have them do it. Yes, I know...it's more expensive but I get a 12 month/12k warranty on the thing and know that any issue tha...

Re: 12v battery dying?

There's a LiPo alternative that's about 10lbs lighter and probably lasts a lot longer. https://www.reddit.com/r/BMWi3/comments/q8es3g/12v_lifepo4_upgrade/ I'm a little hesitant to do the swap on my own due to possible coding requirements/issues. The OP of that thread claims he didn't have to do anyt...
