Re: Suggestions on getting my i3 from Dealer to Home on i5 LA-SAC

The "ABRP" app (A Better Route Planner) shows a travel time of nine hours and seven minutes from LA to Sacramento. That includes five charging stops and a total of two and a half hours of charging. The charging stops are chosen for you based on your car's capability. The PlugShare app will let you p...

Re: Snappier Acceleration Off The Line

I find that baffling since they are able to make ICE vehicles with 4 times the power of this car and not seem to have drivetrain issues. It doesn't make sense to me as to why they can't make it work They CAN make it work, but not with the design of the original part. We'll probably never know why t...

Re: Chargepoint Questions

My i3 is on the charger now and it's only 3.82kw. Maybe I didn't run my battery down enough. I'm at about 3/4 full battery. Unless your battery is very hot it is unlikely your charge rate would be throttled anywhere below an 80% charge. 3.82 kW is about 16A at 240V. Could you have told the car to u...

Re: Chargepoint Questions

Is it possible that the i3 may get some sort of firmware upgrade to charging speeds? Highly unlikely. There would be little reason to put a charger capable of higher currents in the car without already using it. Also, since I am only charging at 32 amps, that is all I'm being charged for by my powe...

Re: Central display

I bought a 10.25" display via AliExpress.com for about US$350. The hardest part of the installation is prying out the plugs over the two screws. After the screws are out, the display pulls straight up. I don't know what "66 plate" means. You can probably find the BMW part number for the replacement ...

Re: 12v socket and usb

The fuse chart I have says #127 is the bottom fuse in the sub-panel to the right of the main panel. It's supposed to be 20 Amp.

Re: Noise from range extender

I can only hear my REX at very low speeds and even then I don't find the noise objectionable. Maybe there is something wrong with your exhaust system. Or maybe my hearing is bad. :) The noise might not be from the REX engine but from the cooling fan. The engine is supposed to stop at low speeds but,...

Re: Rattling noise around trunk/rear interior panel removal

From the Munro documents, it looks like there are three trim pieces that cover the passenger side wall of the trunk area. The bottom piece is called "Passenger Side Lower Quarter Panel Soft Trim Asm". It contains the trunk light. Above that, mostly horizontal is the "Upper Quarter Panel Hard Trim As...

$139.95

That's only $18 higher than the $121.95 price at which I bought mine on April 28th. S&H was $18.25 [FedEx - Smart Post] for a total of $140.20.

Re: intermittent (soft) knock & intermittent (one time so far) labored steering

The power steering cutting out randomly, usually at startup, is a symptom of a communication failure with the power steering module. The late-2019 (December?) "Integration Level" (software version package) is supposed to fix it. Tell the dealer about the power steering sometimes not working and they...
