Re: Level 3 charging past 80%

On my 2017 REx the charging rate seems to start dropping at around 95%. That's when I usually stop charging, especially when I'm at a charger where I pay by the minute!

Re: Road Tax Charge (UK)

My guess is that taxes on petrol pay for road maintenance. Since your car doesn't use petrol, they have to get the taxes out of you a different way.

Re: Hold state of charge, question

I think 10% would be better, but obviously BMW thought not ;) The firmware gives you a choice in 1/2% intervals. It's the California Air Resources Board that said "The APU (REx) must not be capable of switching on until the battery charge has been depleted". BMW interpreted 'depleted' as 6%. Note: ...

Re: 2017 Bmw i3 gear selector lever replacement

You can get one used one on eBay for about $100: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184578570075.

There are others on eBay but the prices are much higher: $200, $250, $500. If you don't mind waiting there are several in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland) for about $150 to $200.

Re: BMW Connected drive 3G to 4G?

The parts list notes: "Order and installation of an encoded telematics control unit will deactivate the currently installed SIM map. ConnectedDrive and Teleservice services can then only be implemented with the new control unit. The ordered control unit does not operate in any other vehicle, only th...

Re: Insulation problem i3

Alright :). Do you know how to fix it or how to start the rex drying procedure? I don't know about a REx "Drying Procedure" but you can run the REx at idle for 20 minutes by running it in Emissions Test Mode: Get into the car and close the door. Press the trunk/hatch release button Press the Start/...

Re: Climate Control Led die but it works, help to know how takedown.

From the pictures in the Munro & Associates price breakdown, it looks like the panel of switches and vents (HVAC, radio, and hazard flashers) is held in with four clips across the top. One is above the 'Mode' button. One above the '2' button. One above the '5' button. And one above the left-arrow bu...

Do you need to replace the entire lever?

If you need only the end knob you turn to change gears:

Re: Question from Newbie

Check the PlugShare app. The icon on the map that looks like a funnel is the 'Map Filters' menu. Turn off "Requires Fee" to find free chargers. Set "Minimum kilowatts" to 50 or turn on only "CCS/SAE" plugs to find only DC Fast Chargers. With luck, there will be a FREE DC Fast Charger on the way home...
