Re: 2021 i3 production start?

The 2020 i3 was just delivered in Late March/early April.. No word on the 2021 i3 and if BMW is giving the i3 a bigger battery for 2021, what would be the point in making the car yet again for another model year? The car seems to be selling in Southern California no matter what year it is. CPO i3s a...

Re: Why do I need an Emission inspection?

You're in California? Which county? Usually you need an emissions test (passed) before DMV will give you a registration and this happens when you register the car. 90% of all i3's with REx usually pass the emissions test but just make sure the engine oil and oil filter is fresh. The little scooper e...

Re: How is your battery holding up?

Why not spend $5k and get a larger capacity battery? $5k is certainly cheaper than $100k plus for a Model S.. i3 owners should save at least $1k a year in the possible hopes of replacing the battery if BMW refuses to replace under warranty. $1k a year over a 5 to 6 year span seems reasonable.. For p...

Re: Warranty Showdown - CPO vs. Carvana vs. Carbiz

As of June the 11th 2020, there is a sweet 2015 i3 that is CPO for $14900 at Palm Springs BMW. Brown leather interior, 20 inch wheels, exterior color is white/blk.
Business nav, no adaptive cruise. 38k miles.

Re: Warranty Showdown - CPO vs. Carvana vs. Carbiz

You have to read the fine print on the warranties.. The things to worry about on an i3 are batteries, charger, water pump, aircon, heater, REx and electric stuff. The power train will probably not be much of a problem. Make sure the warranty covers the cost of the above and make sure there are no de...

Re: How is your battery holding up?

You really need to look further into it. How many miles does your car have on it and what year is your car? A 2014 i3 with normal use should be around 17.5kw usable battery power in 2020. No way a battery as advanced as the battery in an i3 should be at 13kw, unless you've been doing lots of Level 3...

Re: 20" wheels, Rex vs. Non-Rex, 2014 vs. 2017

The Terra World trim is only the top trim when it comes to the interior and it has nothing to do with the options you can choose.. I've seen Terra trims without a rear camera, business nav, no Hardon speakers, no ACC or no self parking and no front end Collision warning.. Yes, the only difference in...

Re: Possible newbie with questions

The i3 is not a sports car and neither is the i3S. Leaving it in Sports Mode and driving it fast will leave you having to buy tires quickly and a range of about 80 miles with the aircon on.. The i3S version just has a more sportier ride with a slightly stiffer suspension and 20 inch wheels.. Note: i...

Re: used i3 buying criteria

All model years are exactly the same expect for the battery capacity.. The 2014/2015/2016 and some of the earlier 2017 all had the 60Ah battery. The BEV versions have more range than the REx versions when it pertains to electric range, but the REx combined with the electric has more range. The 2014 ...

Re: Things I Dislike About My i3

But why bother to even buy the i3 if the dash looks cheap? Why bother to buy if there are no rear door audio speakers? Why bother to buy if there are no power seats? Why bother to buy if there is no AutoPilot? Why why why?? It makes no sense to buy a car you know does not have the features you want ...
