Re: adaptive cruise control dropping out

After driving in 2 heavy rainstorms, the adaptive cruise has started to work fairly well. I suspect that when the dealer prepared the car, it was washed and waxed. A previous poster had problems with RainX, I think the same thing happened to me with whatever ended up in front of the camera when I bo...

Re: i3 being seen as Ugly

There are a lot of Tesla mod 3's around here. Every time I see one coming, my first impression is that it is just another cheap Japanese cookie-cutter economy car coming at me. All Teslas are boring, and with the exception of the Mod 3 are at the very bottom of the quality range, I would much rather...

Re: Best fuel (octane) for Rex

I let the pump click off on its own. So far, good on both I3s I have owned.

The only check engine light was when the fuel flap opened on the highway and it took me some time to get off the road and close it. I reset it and no recurrances.

Re: i3 Weight

I don't know about other years, but my US 2019 with sun roof has a CFRP roof. I was sure that it did by thumping on it, but I just checked it with a very strong magnet. There is definitely no steel there. Other years may vary.

Re: What kind of cell phone mount do you use while driving

I just stand my Galaxy Note in one of the cup holders. It is a big phone and it stands at just the right angle to see the screen. I can't see any reason for a phone holder.

Re: i3 being seen as Ugly

I had a 2000 in the 60s in Colorado. It was a big brother to the 2002 with 4 doors and big comfortable seats. It was the only 2000 I ever saw. It was just what the dealer happened to have. It was a bit awkward looking. Best clutch of any car I have ever owned. Long time without BMW between the 2000 ...

Re: Ran the REX for the first time....

I drove the almost 20-mile round trip to San Antonio to update my I3 with the Rex running both ways. I never heard it until I stopped at a light next to a building that reflected the sound when almost home. When I left the dealer with the newer I3, I pulled into a parking lot two blocks away from th...

Re: adaptive cruise control dropping out

I discovered today that a sudden dip in the road reliably cancels the CC. I went for lunch in the opposite direction from my usual travels. In both directions, at about 55 mph, the same dip in the roadway canceled the CC. In one case, the road ahead was clear, in the other case, I was following a tr...

adaptive cruise control dropping out

I picked up my new-to-me 2019 I3 last Monday. During the drive back from San Antonio in light rain, the cruise control dropped out once and the I3 abruptly slowed. Fortunately, I was not rear-ended. I live just off a ranch-to-market road with 1 1/2 miles of curves through the Texas hill country. Whe...

Re: Coding the i3

Mine did also. I had a no-contact pick-up at the supermarket set for 7 am. My Lenovo alarm clock, my phone, and the I3 all changed time perfectly.
