Re: 2019 range extender - do they make sense for long journeys ?

Delighted with my 2018 94ah REx here and have done several big mileage trips using the range extender. Switch off the climate control and using the sunroof makes quite a difference to range and anything above 75MPH will eat through power quite quickly. Other than that, I have no concerns about long ...

Re: 2018 REX - two coolant tanks

Many thanks for all this. The call to BMW parts confirmed that the i3 coolant 83512355296 is still correct for the climate coolant system tank in my car which is a 2018 94ah REX. I have just topped up 50/50 coolant and water as the bottle advises so the levels are back to where they should be. It on...

Re: 2018 REX - two coolant tanks

So it turns out that part number is correct for 60ah and 120ah vehicles but not 94ah card which is what I drive.
A call to BMW parts it will have to be!

Re: 2018 REX - two coolant tanks

Excellent thank you. Why on Earth the manual doesn’t state this I don’t know.

I’ll get some i3 coolant part no. 83512355296 - the blue stuff and top up with that.

2018 REX - two coolant tanks

Hi All, The manual is extremely vague on this issue. I have just checked the levels of the two small coolant tanks under the frunk RH side. One appears to be the coolant level for the REX engine and is fine. The other states it is for the A/C system and seems quite low. What do I top this up with? T...

Re: I3 not following delayed off-peak charging

Yup - the software on this feature is indeed buggy. My 68 reg will sometimes work perfectly toggling between immediate charge or a timed slot and other times won’t take any notice of a timed slot and just charge immediately. To counteract this, I have organised my home charging point to commence cha...

Re: Defect USB

Turns out my USB port has no power and that the charging point under the dash is also off.

BMW tell me it’s a new head unit required. Thank God for a warranty!

Re: Check Vehicle reset?

Really helpful, thanks. The car came from BMW approved main dealer stock, but obviously this still got missed. All the other service dates seem fine. I’ll await the warning which should arrive during August and will try the reset. Otherwise, I’ll get onto the dealership I bought the car from and the...

Check Vehicle reset?

Hi - on i3 94ah 2018 model which has recently been supplied and serviced, is it possible to reset the Vehicle Check reminder? The car has been serviced as all Vehicle inspection, Brake Fluid and Engine oil appear to be reflect dates in 2021/22 except for Vehicle Check which says August 2020. I under...
