Re: Question on Installing Level 2 Charger @Home

Agreed on the part about a large Tesla battery but for the vast majority of use cases a 240V/16A charge is sufficient to fill up a daily driver battery overnight regardless of EV brand or battery size. The average driver in the USA does 250 miles a week or 50 miles a day. Double that to 100 miles a...

Re: Trying to find key fob pairing instructions

BMW websites describe a different procedure:

https://www.rallyebmw.com/how-to-program-the-bmw-key/
https://www.bimmer-tech.net/blog/item/2 ... te-key-fob

No idea if those apply for the i3. Call your dealer?

Re: Upgrade battery.

BMW is not doing badly. Quite the contrary. It gives the opportunity to earn even small specialized players who do a exclusive work. These exclusive workers are just being born. you are right, and it's all matter of perspective. I remember when Volvo built, super reliable (1.000.000km+) and practic...

Re: Need Help with coding Rear-Fog Switch Retrofit (U.S. i3s)

I am trying to find a 3rd party repair place that has the Bimmer software so they can turn it on. Please can someone provide the code that I can take in to get it turned on? Thanks! Just buy a Bluetooth OBD Dongle (40 euro) - spend the money on the BimmerCode (30-40 euro) software and do it yoursel...

BEV E-Motor transmission/differential Oil - change?

I was just clicking through the technical manual and saw that the i3 BEV comes with 1.5L of transmission oil. Re: Solid State Battery Progress

Depending on the MY, you may have up to 38Hp available when your battery is essentially 'empty' (but BMW won't let that happen). The EV motor is 170Hp...you will not have full capabilities when running only on the REx. Will the vehicle go? Yes. On the level, as long as it can overcome drag, yes...t...

Re: Solid State Battery Progress

The Rex implementation of BMW is mainly bad in the US due to compliance laws and has nothing to do with the technology. The euro version is much better. You can drive 90+ mph with the Rex on empty battery in Germany https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmCOdHZF91Q And the batteries sold today - should la...

Re: Solid State Battery Progress

while this is all good news - there is still little evidence that people need it :P I hope that we get to that tipping point that enough people have EV experience that range is not the main discussion topic anymore. Most people I know which got EVs that have enough range for their daily life - never...
