Re: Battery degradation driven by aging, charge cycles and charge current

Cold is often ignored, but is much worse than high heat for battery degradation, however it is easy to heat a battery. The i3 will heat the battery when necessary and plugged in, so will most EVs. PHEVs can minimize battery use when the battery is too cold. It is a good reason to leave your EV plugg...

Re: I3 seats causing back pain ?

Seats are highly personal, I like my i3 Tera fine, didn't bug me at all driving 2000 miles in 4 days. I have a tall torso and a bad lower back. They have never bugged me at all. The only thing I don't like about them is they are a bit flimsy and bouncy.

Re: 6 Months And I’m Going to Sell it

I agree, sounds like the car really isn't for the OP. I disagree with almost all the points though. Great visibility, high beams are fine, much more pleasing color quality than the low beam LED, though they do clash, it is really a 3 door car with access doors so comes along with features you would ...

Re: Disabling parking distance sensor for bike rack using some tapes?

I too find the parking sensors highly annoying with a bike rack. They are so loud and stay on even while moving forward for far too long (speed they shut off is too fast for my parking lot). I have no parking button that I am aware of. I would be glad to know if there is an easy way to disable them ...

Re: A Bolt owner has i3 regrets sometimes

An apology to i3REx owners, but what's with that "range-extender"? (Before he or I owned BEVs, I told him not to go there when he leased his i3.) I mean if GM had the guts to go naked, how come BayEmVay pussied out with that REx abortion? (Thinking about it, I answered my own question. Being the i3...

Re: 2015 i3 Hold SOC charge not what it seems?

To add to my earlier comment, was there strong winds or anything? If I just drive on the REx I usually get 30 to 40 mpg, so two gallons from the tank is about 60 to 80 miles plus electric. However, I have seen as bad as 22 mpg or so, driving 72 mph into a 20 to 30 mph headwind. That drained the tank...

Re: 2015 i3 Hold SOC charge not what it seems?

Either something is wrong or there is crucial information missing. Starting elevation about the same as ending? Did you start with a full tank? Any strong gas smell? In my 2015 REx, I can drive about 200 miles on a full charge and 2 full tanks of gas (2.2 gal each, so 4.4 total) at 75 mph mostly hig...

Re: 2019 BMW i3 REx will have a larger tank?

My guess is they won't want to change fuel tank parts and will leave it alone. However, BEVx would let them increase the size maybe 1 gallon to keep range just under EV range, but I highly doubt it.

They are ridiculously low already, so low people are buying them internationally and exporting them from the US. I expect some stabilization.

Re: Buying out of state - a cautionary tale

Depending on your state your local Treasurer/DMV might issue a temporary permit. Call and ask. Make sure to talk to someone higher up.
