Re: Turning OFF range extender hold mode

I have the same experience (REX not turning off immediately when so instructed). I think it tries to get the SOC to at or near the point where the REX was turned on. Or perhaps the other theories expressed here are correct. My point is only that this seems like normal behavior as mine consistently b...

Car temporarily immobile at low SOC

We had a first-time experience the other day in which our i3 REX inexplicably went from around 6% to 0% SOC when sitting for about 5 hours. Here's what happened: I drove the car on a 200-mile trip at the end of which the REX was on (though I have coded the car to permit engaging the REX at 75% SOC o...

Re: What is Your Experience with Frequent 200 mile Trips?

I take the car on two 200-mile single day drives each month. I have coded the car to increase the fuel capacity from 1.9 to 2.4 gallons and give me the ability to turn on the REX at 75% SOC or less. I carry a 2-gallon Rotopax to give me maximum flexibility and because there can be big gaps between g...

Re: REX + Rotopax

We use one 2-gallon Rotopax. Fits well in the frunk. And I recommend getting the spout designed for water--unlike the gas spout, the water spout is vented, so the gas pours much, much better and faster. The benefit of the 2-gallon size is that if you code the car for the 2.4 gallon internal tank cap...

Re: Successful Coding after KLE and software update

Tomasz, will you or have you added the info about the TNK_VOLL_ANZEIGE setting change to the coding instructions document?

Re: Long haul rexing?

Coding to gain the European option of turning the REx on at will at 75% SOC or less as well as the 2.4 gallon gas tank IS very helpful for longer drives. I've coded the car to restore both of these capabilities. Since doing that, I've adopted the practice of using the REx on freeway stretches of 65 ...

Re: Emergency fuel can for frunk

I've been using the EPA-approved spout that came with the tank. With that spout, I don't need a funnel. With some practice, you'll get the hang of it. The only real disadvantage is that there's no venting on the tank or the spout, so it takes a long time to empty the Rotopax tank. I've just ordered ...
