Re: too much rapid charging damages Li-Ion batteries

I tend to believe BMW did their homework on the ground-up design of the i3. They spent a huge amount of time and money developing the whole car, and if they say it isn't an issue, and their warranty is backing you up, why would you question it? Agreed. I think it always good to "question" things wi...

Re: too much rapid charging damages Li-Ion batteries

Like all new science, there are reports supporting both sides. Science also acknowledges that lab results (as is the case with the study linked here) are always the same as real world. Thus practical science sits better with me. To that end, Nissan released their internal study data on L3 charging v...

Re: Has regen been reduced

Please note when I started this thread I pointed out that I live in San Francisco. Nearly every day I am driving down a section of Filbert that is a 31.5% slope and other streets that are nearly as steep. I would not expect regen to stop the car on those hills. Just a thought though would it make s...

Re: Will the type 2 Mennekes plug pass though a UK letter bo

I doubt any letterbox will fit a type 2 plug. The letterbox on my door is huge (the biggest I've ever had) and it doesn't fit by a long shot. The type 2 mennekes is pretty chunky.

The above mentioned cat flap seems the only hole-in-a-door that will accommodate.

Re: Has regen been reduced

In the same way you could take an ICE car, take it out of gear and let it coast What I meant was not constantly moving the shift lever back and forth, but by just letting up on the gas. One owner told me you do it by finding a certain position on the gas pedal, but if true, it seems you'd have to g...

Re: Has regen been reduced

This is disappointing to read, a lot of my excitement for this car was the 1 pedal driving aspect. Don't be. You can absolutely 1 pedal drive. I haven't touched my brake pedal in 3 weeks (74 mile daily commute, 50/50 highway/non-highway). Last time I used it was to not hit a deer that jumped across...

Re: Leasing in the UK

+1 to what was said above. There is no haggling in the UK--the price is the price and the lease rate is the lease rate. You might be able to get a freebie like mats, keychain, or charging cable but anything regarding the car itself is fixed pricing. It's not impossible to get the 5 years servicing ...
