Re: DIY: Highbeam Headlamp Replacement / Upgrade

Dear auxnbus, these are different and cost half as much as the ones given by "gundo" with his amazon reference. Question: do your ebay ones, work well? I have already since 1.5 yr LED's for the hi-beams, but all they do is make the illumination pattern much wider, but not one foot farther; in fact t...

Re: DIY: Highbeam Headlamp Replacement / Upgrade

The Amazon "does it fit?" chart says that it will not fit an i3. So: does it?

Re: DIY charger

@ Jim deBruycker. Typical Belgian name; are you? Anyway your answer dated Nov 28th may indeed be the right one. I've been unable to get their JuiceBox to work. It's disappointing that the company no longer tries to solve my problem. Stay away from them.

Re: DIY charger

I ordered and built the emotorwerks.com JuiceBox Premium for my EU i3. It doesn't work! Forget it! The company no longer wants to assist me in getting it to work. They claim to have "many" i3's supplied but were never able/willing to give me one single user in Europe. $350 down the drain and lots of...

Re: Tesla Charging Adapter & the BMW i3

I'd be surprised if any car non Tesla brand could be charged at a Tesla station. As far as I know, Tesla owners can charge their cars for free for as long as they own their Tesla vehicle. I don't think Tesla will allow or make it easy to have the entire EV community stop by their charging stations. ...

Re: DIY: Highbeam Headlamp Replacement / Upgrade

Which LEDs did you use for the main beams ?[/quote] I used LED's from an unknown brand, but from a company dealing strictly in vehicle lights, whereby LED represents a great portion; their website: "www.xenonlamp.nl" . I used and installed article # 4620.01.71, 50 W, at €44,95 for the two, VAT incl...

Re: DIY: Highbeam Headlamp Replacement / Upgrade

I have changed the High beams (should I say the lowest beams because they sit even below the low beams) for LEDs of 55W each. I barely see the difference between the low beams and the high beams. So little, that oncoming traffic doesn't even ask me (through light flashing) to lower my beams please. ...

Door reflectors falling out; airco fails

By opening the door at the driver side, the red reflector fell out. Two days later the same happened at the passenger side.
Also my airco doesn't work - will be repaired, I hope, in two days.

Sensivity to wind

When wind is strong and gusty, combined with the short wheelbase, the high body, narrow tires and sensitive electric power steering, I find it quite a job to keep the i3 going straight. It does not allow one to take eyes off the road ahaed, even for one second. Does anybody experienced this as well?
