Re: UK Energy tariffs for EV owners?

I just tried uSwitch and 1 come up that I had forgotten about first:utility. They give you a smart meter, which does 30 minute reads for electric, and daily for gas. As someone who's been meaning to take regular reads for the last 5 years and keep forgetting... that's put them to the top of my list,...

Re: Long commute. Is this appropriate for the i3

I'm in a similar situation - 60 miles to work and 62 back, no charging at work as I'm a freelance contractor who moves jobs frequently. REX was essential. I actually ordered in my last contract which was a 150 mile trip at the start and end of the week with about 30 miles pottering around in between...

UK Energy tariffs for EV owners?

Hi all, Getting my car in a few weeks and have decided to look around at what the latest offers are. Are there any companies offering special tariffs for EV owners other than Ecotricity? Currently with Good Energy who aren't the cheapest (but 100% Renewable sourced). However I think with my electric...

Re: Afer Market Rear Camera

This would be a good option considering they force you to pay £700 for the parking package. I wouldn't bother with sensors again after my last car had just a camera. Makes sensors unecessary when you can see the car is half an inch from a lamppost. Im pretty sure i can park an i3 in any space consid...

Re: Low Frequency Rumbling Sound When Driving & Window Open

Every car I've had does this. It's effectively the same as blowing across the top of a bottle and getting the sound of a ship leaving port. Toooooot. Except the frequency that a car resonates at is usually subsonic and will give you a head ache pretty quickly. Opening another window breaks the seal ...

Re: I3 continuous Driving??

Yes , but not at more than 75mph on the flat. At that speed youll need the REX and the battery, and the battery will run flat. Stick to 70 or less if on hills and you'll go all day. If you are in the US, get the car coded and enable maintain SOC at 75% and the car will recharge back to 75% battery w...

Re: Sound system

Good to know re: flac Lossless is overkill though, for a car setting. Try 192khz and you should find iPhone compatibility and no audible difference vis a vis lossless (in a car setting, home controlled environment with very expensive equipment would be different.) +1 on that. A few years back i rip...

Re: New laser scanners on i3

Yeah really, I think its a case of wait and see.. the announcement does sound more like a demo of upcoming future tech, not something being fitted already or even ready to be fitted.

Re: 1,665 i3 delivered to customers worldwide in Nov 2014

I think BMW have purposely only been running 1 production line. They'd prefer a longer wait for customer while the first cars release get their bugs ironed out. They might even be holding back a few cars this month just to wait for things like the KLE issues and some air con issues I've seen to pass...
