Re: Coding the i3

I've done quite a bit of coding to my 2015 w/REX, the language is a little difficult and my eyes go a little tired but about 1/2 way into the coding I realized there was a search option at the top of the program which made things a bit easier as long as I remembered to go back to the top of the sect...

Re: comfort access - erm, how?

As others stated, if your door handles (both of them) do not have the ridges/lines, your car does not have comfort access. If it does, then place a finger on the ridges to lock the car, place all 4 fingers inside of the handle to unlock. My car doesn't like 3 fingers, it wants all 4.

Re: Is the Gas Tank 1.9 gallons or 2.4?

If you live in the US, you are only allowed to use about 1.9 US gal of the 2.4 US gal tank. You need to code the car to unlock the additional 0.5 US gal. Search for coding, you'll find lots of information. I coded mine an hour after buying it.

Re: BMW i3 Range Extender (REX?) - United States

So long as you are not depleting the battery pack faster than the REx can re-charge it then you will not be stranded. If you do deplete it faster than the REx can re-charge it, you will experience a sort of "limp-mode" where the vehicle will have greatly reduced capabilities, but no, you will not be...

Re: Windshield / Window Shades

Has anyone else tried any other shades yet? The fold up (into a circle) shades from my e46 do not quite fit that well. I've found some that are foldable and slightly bigger that should do the trick on Amazon for about $12. But I'm wondering if the ones that fold like an accordion would be better. Th...

Re: Rear-Fog Switch Retrofit (U.S. i3s)

I guess BMW has wised up to the "free" method, perhaps another 2015 change if you are able to do it on 2014's. I have mine removed in an attempt to do the free button mod, if you remove the two tabs that ours use to keep the button in, then it could just pop out the front at will, I also don't think...

Perhaps a specific "Charging/Chargers" sub-forum?

Trying to find information about OPEN EVSE, people that have completed them, etc. Searching "OPEN" is too common according to the search engine. Perhaps a subform dedicated to charging and chargers might be helpful for combining all of those types of topics? I'm handy, I'm not afraid to do a little ...
