Re: 2017 BMW i3 Build - Video

Blue Tera with all options (especially he sunroof) 60ah 2017 for crazy money off MSRP would be ideal for my 2.2 mile "commute."

You can get a 60ah in a MY2017; but it is being discontinued.

Re: New Motor Mount bolts

I just got mine back from the dealer. I took it in for an oil change in the Rex unit, and an A/C problem. They kept it for 5 days, did the software update and changed out the motor mount bolts, and of course, un-did all of my lovely "Code my car" coding. Sigh..I'll have to get Okee to recode me... ...

Don't be surprised when it comes back with an update.

Re: Battery charge indicator range increases 20%

Odd actually. My brand new i3 with the latest update actually estimated a much lower range than achieved. Based on experience tracking my miles per kW/h that seems like an accurate estimate for an Eco-conscious driver. The GOM goes off of your last 18 miles, or so, so if you have a little fun in th...

Yes, that is typical. It will return to normal in a few days.

Re: Battery charge indicator range increases 20%

I firmly believe BMW has improved the range since the EPA rated the vehicle as I just drove back from an out-of-state dealer with my new i3 REX and am absolutely in love with the car. The car beat its estimates by quite a lot, with the REX not kicking in until somewhere between 80-90 miles, and net...

Re: Coding the i3

I wouldn't have an issue coding it myself, but I have warranty concerns. Even though BMW is well-aware of it, I'm worried that if the car doesn't shift into drive or has an issue and needs to be towed that BMW will blame it on the coding. But maybe BMW makes it so easy to code to encourage people t...

Re: BMW revamps "i" electric car division to focus on self-d

Can't find any articles or info about this. Could you share? If you are asking about he facelift, you won't find any articles about it, yet, we will start seeing spy shots a few months after the longer range 2017's start hitting the dealers. If you are asking about the i3s here is a link from earli...

Re: Complete Paint Protection (DIY)

I don't have any experience with keying or other damage, but just incase you did not know, the TM3 is going to be a steel car. I have a reservation for one too but I'm not completely sold, steel seems like a step backwards, or it seems like it would be a step backwards from the aluminum frame, CFRP ...
