Re: new batterires real world range

"I drove over 9000 miles on autopilot - in two weeks - and can absolutely vouch for its safety and convenience ............ for some reason, it tends to veer off past lane markings.......ever-so-slight lane hunting autopilot does in straight roads ....... not only is it unsafe but you will also tri...

Re: How Many Miles Do the Tires Last?

And here's a simple example of the maths - excuse the simple assumptions about tyre wear rates for front and rear but be assured, it makes no difference how many miles each tyre does relative to the other or how many times you change them or how far you drive in total, the maths always results in ex...

Re: How Many Miles Do the Tires Last?

Tires rotated on the same axle aren't going to make much wear difference. I'm more than happy for anyone to do that, but it isn't going to deliver significant improvement in tire life. At the risk of getting drawn into this "discussion" in the UK, there are loads of roundabouts and as a resul...

Re: Comparing BMW i3 vs break-even mileage

On that simple comparison, the numbers may work or not based on the relative costs of electricity and liquid fuel, I'll leave the US members to argue that but based on the first two posts, a gallon of liquid power in the US appears to be somewhere between 17 and 27 times the cost of a unit of electr...

Re: REX coding...how many miles can i drive filling up every

Yes in theory you can drive forever but as has been pointed out in other posts on here, the ReX is a 34hp engine so it cannot provide power requirements in excess of this for any length of time without SoC falling as the battery supplements it. The problem with dropping the SoC to 6% (the standard U...

Re: Backup camera sometimes doesn't work?

From the manual - "In the case of very high temperatures on the Control Display, e.g. due to intense solar radiation, the brightness may be reduced down to complete deactivation. Once the temperature is reduced, e.g. through shadow or climate control system, the normal functions are re-established."...

Re: Car stops charging as soon as the door is locked.

Have you checked that the car is set to "Charge Immediately" in the settings menu? As someone else has already said, there are low cost time settings for charging that will cause the car not to charge immediately.

Re: Front license plate mounting

I've had plates stuck on with double sided auto tape before. Worked fine as long as the surface they were stuck to was perfectly flat. Slight curvature I had on a Toyota once caused the plate to gradually over a long period, overcome the tape adhesive allowing weather and dirt to eventually defeat i...

Re: Chargers

okay cool - so I'm based in the UK... So I need to look up EVSE's then...? What's the general consensus on those and installers in the UK? Not had chance to use it in anger yet but I've had a Rolec 32a 5m tethered installed inside by http://www.chargedev.co.uk and it was pretty painless. £330 was t...
