There are factory approved procedures to repair the "live module" and the "drive module" BMW sell the complete side panel, but it doesnt make sense to repair it from economical point of view. There is a small black plastic cover over the door panel, approx 1"x3". Once you pop it out you will see the bolt for the mirror.

I have the tools to read/write most of them. If you dont know the boot pin, I dont see a way to read it. And more important, if you dont know the source code (Fuktionsrahmen) I dont see what can you do with the dump. But the idea is tempting nevertheless.

Well, because the BMW is smarter than the glass installers, they made an aluminum frame that is glued to the CF tub and the windshield is glued to the frame. The part numbers are irrelevant. They are password locked Tricore TC1797, most common processor used in automobile electronics nowadays.

Thank you. After a not very heavy front end accident the positive wire of the vacuum pump for the brakes touched the chassis. Well, because the BMW is smarter than the glass installers, they made an aluminum frame that is glued to the CF tub and the windshield is glued to the frame. Also there are no aftermarket i3 windshields available yet, and the price of the original is pretty decent.

The EME is made by BMW.
