How did the removal/re-installation go? Did you need a steering wheel puller, or did it kind of come off once you removed the bolts.

Re: Connected drive issue

This isn't your problem, but starting in July, 2019, cars that were produced on July 2015 will have their subscriptions expire. This will continue on as more and more cars hit the 4 year old point. July 2015 is a special date, because i3 production prior to that has 10 years of connected drive. On a...

Re: Help decide between 2014 vs 2016 Used i3

Thank you all for the quick responses and help. Is there an easy way to figure out packages from the VIN number? I am positive the white 2016 is mega as its CPO and dealer was able to tell me but not sure on the orange 2014 as it is Carmax. Stick it in here: https://www.mdecoder.com/ It will tell y...

Re: Help decide between 2014 vs 2016 Used i3

The battery warranty transfers with the car. My personal opinion, the additional options, including the Professional Nav screen make the 2014 more attractive to me. What "world" is the 2016? From the wheels, looks like it could be a Tera World, which has $2,700 in options, or at least a Giga World ...

Re: Charge door no longer locking and unable to CCS charge now

I'd like to remove this part and check it, but there's a cosmetic panel that covers the area around the plug ports. Anyone have luck in removing this panel without breaking it? According to BMW, the proper way to access the charging socket plug is to remove: 1. the rear bumper 2. the wheel arch cov...

Re: Turn on Rex early on freeway?

Usually if I'm going on a >100mi trip, then I use REx on the freeway if I can. You need to code "hold state of charge", what this will do is allow you to turn the REx on and off with the push of a button as long as the car's battery is below 75%. I like to avoid using the REx in the city if possible.

Re: Bmw charges about $170 to mount and balance winter tires

You need to stress the importance of a torque wrench- BMW bolts are just the right size and may be damaged if over tightened. Ugh, last time I had to use a BREAKER BAR to get my wheel bolts off. I had to stand on the end of the breaker bar and put all of my body weight on it. I follow torque specif...

Re: Please educate me on how "adaptive" regen works

Nissan has been advertising an "e-Pedal" feature in the 2018+ Leaf that is basically how the i3's pedal works https://www.nissan-global.com/EN/TECHNOLOGY/OVERVIEW/e_Pedal.html Easy driving using only the accelerator pedal The e-Pedal allows the driver to start, accelerate, decelerate and stop using ...
