Re: Bimmercode App REX ‘hold mode’ enablement step by step

No, everything is perfectly normal. Once you hit the button to stop the Rex, it shuts off according to it's own schedule, probably heat related. Personally, when I'm running mine on the interstate, I usually push the button to shut it off when I see my exit sign. I'll immediately hear the engine slo...

Re: Auto climate button & AC on

I typically leave mine at 68 in the winter. One of the things I've noticed is when I park it in the sun on a 50 degree day, the interior will get warmer than 68. So when I get in and start it, it will blow cold air to try to cool it down to my set temperature. Maybe that's what you're experiencing?

Re: Rear defroster not working well

Thanks for going to all that work and posting it here, Don. My 2014 Rex rear defroster works just as well as yours, so it makes me wonder if it's a design issue with the car?

Re: Winterizing my i3

Don't forget there's a "Traction" menu item in the car's idrive system as well. You might play with that a bit when it's icy out.

Re: Poor Lower Back Support

If you can't get the website to open, you basically just get some plastic auto upholstery pry tools (around $7.00 from Harbor Freight). Start at the lower right of the seat back and work your way around the bottom and sides. It popped loose pretty easily!

Poor Lower Back Support

One of the few things I have NOT liked on my 2014 i3 Rex is the lack of lower back support on the seats. My passenger seat isn't quite as bad, so I suspect it's partly just normal wear and tear on a five-year-old car. Still, I wish BMW had given us at least a rudimentary manual lumbar support adjust...

Re: DCFS Level 3 charging not reliable

I'm sorry we're all having this problem, but glad it's not just me! I have a 2014 Rex model, and attempt to charge at an Electrify America station 40 miles away sometimes. I think only twice out of the last ten times have I been able to plug in and charge immediately. Most of the rest of the time I ...

Re: Will likely be buying an i3 within a few months

FWIW, my vote is for the older Rex model. I live in mid Missouri, with similar conditions to what you described in winter My 2014 Rex model will usually deliver around 50 miles on battery in winter, closer to 70 in summer. The key with the Rex model is to code it to Euro standards, so you can turn o...

Re: Error with Rex maintenance cycle function

Is your car coded to be able to run the Rex at will below 75% charge? If not, I would consider doing that so you could give it some exercise. It makes it a much more useful car that way, anyway. Either that or drive it down to five miles, then drive around the block near your home until it comes on.

Re: Shall i buy one.

How much city driving do you do? The i3 Rex is a decent highway car, but if that's the majority of your driving, there are plenty of other cars that will handle better on the highway and still get you 40 mpg (which is what you'll get driving with the Rex on the highway). If you do quite a bit of cit...
