New issue: Must read if you have a 2014 i3

Many of the early 2014 deliveries and especially the higher mileage cars have begun to experience a problem with incorrect state of charge values. It's causing considerable issues especially for REx owners. Here's a rundown of the problem and what you should do: http://bmwi3.blogspot.com/2017/03/inc...

Re: i3 Milestones

I'm at 66,000 miles now, Steven. I'm using a little more gas than you , though. I'm "only" averaging about 1,200mpg. :D

Re: BMW ChargeNow DC Fast US expansion

Well over 90% of my charges come from my own EVSE. Even L2 chargers are few in far between on the East Coast, and I can count DC EvGo with one hand. There are some chargers from other networks, but they charge 2- 3 times more than my home costs, even more expensive and less convenient than gas. I u...

BMW ChargeNow DC Fast US expansion

BMW's ChargeNow EVgo program is now expanded to include the entire national network of EVgo DC Fast charge stations. There's currently 668 DC Fast stations available, and that total will be over 700 very soon as BMW & Nissan are teaming up to add another 50. Details and links to the ChargeNow websit...

Re: My i3 broke down the same night I bought it!

Sorry to hear about the problem. It's unfortunate, but I have news that should make you feel a little better, I hope. The issue you experienced is beginning to happen on all early 2014 REx models. I have one, and this recently happened to me also. Basically, as the battery begins to age, the car has...

Re: First CCS experience

Admin Note:

Thread updated to correct the name of the charging system used. It's CCS, not CSS. CCS stands for Combined Charging System. I didn't want new comers here to get confused. We already have too many "standards". :D

Re: 2014 i3 REx - Battery Degredation

My 2014 Rex has 56,000 miles now. This recent picture shows the GOM a little optimistic, but honestly if it's lost any range after over two years and 56k, I can't tell. I don't think BMW will have to worry about many capacity-loss warranty claims. :D That is amazing. I have a 2014 with 11K on it an...

Re: i Blue seat belts

I actually looked into this back in 2014. It's possible, but ridiculously expensive. My dealer gave me a quote of a little under $1,200. I then looked into aftermarket replacement seat belts for a while, but just gave up. I'd still like to to it, but my upper limit of what I'd be willing to pay is a...
