Re: Nav issue

The three choices are "Fast", "ECO PRO", or "Short". I think you want "Fast".

I think it is in the menus as Navigation/Map/Routes.

Re: Tire repair kit in frunk - replacement BMW "Fix a Flat" goo

Weird. When I look for the can of goo (Tire inflating bottle, 350ml) by part number (71106871122) it is available online from various BMW dealers for about $24.

Re: HELP Please, Replacing 12v battery located under the frunk cargo tray

I checked at Bimmercode.app and they say that you need Bimmerlink to 'register' a replacement battery ("Register battery replacement" button at the bottom of the Bimmerlink "Battery" page). The Bimmercode app can only set the battery type. That is needed if you replace the factory AUX18L (20 Ah AGM)...

Re: Trunk weight limit

The specifications I could find don't say anything about a weight limit on the "service cover". The specifications for the 120ah i3 gives maximum load (440 kg) and the maximum total load on the rear axle (965 kg). The total weight and axle loading ratio (48/52) indicates that without cargo the rear ...

Re: So the interior door handle just broke

Can you determine the part number of the broken piece?

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select

Perhaps it is available used.

Re: Dead Battery and other problems

Solution: pop the hood open, unscrew the cargo bucket, and jump start the small battery to give you enough energy so car can start up and charging module will begin charging. Problem: you can't pop the hood open with a button You missed a step: :) Problem: The hood (frunk) button is inside your loc...

Re: Pedestrian warning Noise , in reverse

The optional Vehicle Sound Generator is shown on realoem.com in the “Audio, Navigation, Electronic Systems” page. Here it is for my 2017 REx: https://www.realm.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=1Z83-USA-10-2016-I01-BMW_i-i3_94Ah_Rex&diagId=65_2545 It appears to mount in the front right corner of the car: ht...

Re: i3 Radiators

Looks like the REx radiator is about twice as thick as the BEV radiator:
BEV: BMW part 17117600511, Nissens 60814, Core Dimensions: 600 x 339 x 16 mm
REx: BMW part 17118678027, Nissens 60816, Core Dimensions: 600 x 334 x 32 mm

Re: What octane rating is right for the REx: 89 or 91?

Good question. The "Technical training. Product information. W20 Engine" (©2013 BMW AG, Munich) document has this to say about that: Compression ratio: 10.6 Fuel rating [RON]: 95 Fuel [RON]: 87- 98 I think that means that the 'nominal' octane rating is 95 RON and it should work on anything from 87 t...

Re: Ran the REX for the first time....

The REx normally turns off when your speed is below 10 kph (unless your battery charge is below 3.5%). One way to listen to the REx when the car is parked is to put it in the emissions test mode. The SOC has to be below 75%. Get into the car and close the door. Press the trunk release button Press t...
