Re: Your first few 100 kilomters?

BoMW, The US Rex cannot be switched on manually. It comes on automatically when the battery is almost exhausted. Thus, it is forced to perform as operated by the Telegraph journalist. It will limp when using the REX because the battery will be low and unable to supplement the REX. The Rex is mandat...

Re: EVSE -Electric Vehicle Service Equipment- Lessons Identi

I called BG in November and the earliest installation was January 29th! I was not on site to supervise but the electrician did a fab job, very neat, tidy and clean. I went for the 32amp and if I had known there was an untethered option I would have gone for that. One issue which I did not anticipate...

Re: Welcome to the BMW i3 Forum

Hi Tom, Thanks for your info on the i3 in the colder temperatures. I talked to a salesperson yesterday and they won't be getting one in our area until late April or early May. He offered to let me order one but I'd prefer to test drive before I purchase plus I already have the Leaf and the Fit EV. ...

Re: Just ordered I3 BEV september UK delivery

Don't tell anyone but I've managed to hijack a cancellation, not allowed apparently, cancellations must be passed onto next customer in line but a few dealers have hung on to their order. Expecting mid April delivery but maybe earlier as production is expected to be ramped up. REx Laurus (will chang...

Re: BMW i3 Test drive today at Berkeley BMW

Derby dealer was a bit of a let down. I wanted to place an order around bonfire night having been convinced that there would be a stock shortfall. Salesman suggested I wait till the car was revealed on the 14th November and after a test drive the following weekend. By the time I was ready to order I...

Re: Your first few 100 kilomters?

Thanks Ken and I3me. The Rex is a non-starter in the US as far as I am concerned - regulations have forced BMW to ensure the Rex can't be employed until the battery is almost exhausted. Everyone in the US will have the experience of the Daily Telegraph journalist - lousy performance when the Rex is...

Re: Thinking about an i3

I'll just see what happens re the professional sat nav. Seems unprofessional that a massive fleet company would have the wrong options on ordering but I guess it all changes too quickly. I might pick a fight with the fleet company and try to get them to pay for it! On the motorway I was going 80 to...

Re: Thinking about an i3

Great to hear that you had an enjoyable drive! What speed were you doing on the motorway, did you use adaptive cruise? That free professional sat nav is an issue which has annoyed me since November. Apparently it ended just after my test drive and I was extremely peeved off as I wanted to place an o...

Re: Replace standard headlight bulbs with LEDs

Sorry to add to this adaptive question but its been a topic which has interested my while spec-ing my order. As I understand it the basic model does come with LED's side lights (u shape) but headlights are tungsten bulbs. The adaptive led's are without tungsten bulbs and replaced with very clever LE...
