Re: [RangeAnxiety] Survey research

I think most everything up to the final scenario questions are really just demographic baselines. My commute to work is about 4 miles, so I answered 'no' to every scenario with my 22Ah i3. On the daily use, the only reason I could have for range anxiety is exactly like neglecting to put fuel in my g...

Re: We have met the enemy and he is us

I think the current public charger system will always be problematic with this stuff without making changes. Many are in unsecured locations where they can be vandalized, blocked, or abused. They are installed like payphones in that sense, relying on a public honor system to not destroy them, but ho...

Re: BMW I3 to a Subaru Sti

Proper winter tires for the STi are not going to be cheap. Get Hakkapellitas or stay home. ;) Seriously though, for winter driving, they are pretty awesome, but I did make the mistake of staying stock width when I put studded snow tires on my 2005. That car ripped through ice faster than anything el...

Re: Sport Wheels on a 2017 REx

Looks like they stick out a good 10mm more than my stock (non-s) ones with 15mm spacers. I know they are wider as well though . .

Re: V8 Exhaust Sound from i3

I have also looked into using an OBD connected app to integrate speed sensitivity, and while the data is certainly available to tap into, there does not appear to be an appropriate app for Android that could work that way. Seems like a custom built one would be the most simple way to go there at thi...

Re: V8 Exhaust Sound from i3

I have installed a small water resistant Oontz bluetooth speaker in my frunk area. It's tapped into the 12V battery directly with a fused link, so it never shuts off. (It is only rated for 1A draw when it is charging, so probably uses far less when it is not.) Inside the car, I have a cheap older ph...

Re: Mobile Phone mount with wireless charging

Here's the Thingverse ready 3D print resource. I ordered one with minimum fill in ABS and it works very nicely. All you do is figure out exactly what type of mount you want to use with it. You can rely on adhesive (not recommended) or you can screw mounts directly to the printed piece. I'm using a W...

Re: Winter wheel/tire fitment 2018 i3s

No matter what winter or all-season tires ultimately are available, there will be variations in how they handle anyway. From sidewall stiffness to slip angles they can tolerate, like for like, minor scrub radius changes are not going to be something you will notice either in the way the car drives o...

Re: Weathertech Floor Mats- FRONT & REAR $149 shipped

For the record, this link still works with WTFLASH15.

http://www.northamericanparts.com/weath ... 25023.aspx

$186.08 shipped.

Going to get them ordered now, as my 2015 arrives this week with the usual lack of decent mats.

Curious if anybody knows of any other good discounts going on these mats at this time.
