Re: Fuel additives for REX

Yeah, Thanks Jim. I was not clear with my wording, my fault. I should have said REX powering the generator, not actually running on REX.

Re: Driving on Rex only & not charging battery

With my battery at 0% and driving with REX only....No reduction at all in HVAC and even at highway speeds of 70+ mph (up a substantial hill)...REX is strong and fast!

Is the '19 i3S with REX different from other years? Even off the line with REX only, it is shockingly quick!

Driving on Rex only & not charging battery

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am still getting used to daily life with my 2019 i3S. Today I was very busy and did not have time or an opportunity to charge. I have been driving all day, multiple errands using the REX and 0% battery. REX works great! Is it dangerous, or bad for the battery ...

Re: Fuel additives for REX

Thanks Vreihen & MKH. I actually got a hold of my Service Advisor at my local BMW dealer. He said adding a fuel/octane stabilizer/preserver is not necessary, but a GOOD idea! A gas station pretty close to us, just starting offering 100 octane racing fuel...but they want $8.50 gallon. Don't know if t...

Fuel additives for REX

Since many of us with the REX option almost primarily drive on pure electric and rarely engage REX, is it at all recommended to add octane preserver to the gasoline tank?

I have NOT done this, but would love some feedback, opinions or a definitive answer ;) Thanks!

Re: Check Engine Light on 2019 i3s :(

Car still at the Service Dept. First it was that fuel tank valve, now they are saying it is a "carbon/charcoal" canister.

Car is about 3 weeks old and only has a few hundred miles. 2019 i3S Rex. I am not too happy :(

Re: real world range for a 2019 i3 rex? electric and gas?

I have a 2019 i3S Rex. When fully charged, the battery usually says 150-165 (it is always different, LOL...yay BMW) :) Rex mileage changes from high 60s to high 70s. Pure battery range seems to be between 100-135ish, depending on temp. Temp REALLY affects the battery range, even more than heavy acce...

Re: Check Engine Light on 2019 i3s :(

The i3 is a little (well, maybe a bit more!) weird in that, since the REx isn't run regularly, to help keep the fuel from degrading, the tank is pressurized. That has two issues, one maintaining pressure, and two, releasing it so you can safely open the cap to refill it. My needs didn't seem to war...
