Re: Question on chargers including wireless

Programmed departure times will disable themselves after a few missed departures..... ...f you have connectivity, you could always reinstate them. I have all three of my departure times set and use them up to 3x per day. If I miss two departures, I receive a message the next time I'm in the car tha...

Re: Brake Lights & Coding: Dash Indicator? Activation Level?

Yeah! Saw that video -- very informative. I appreciate he pointed a camera at his feet, and also at the regen display. I'm pretty sure mine activated ½ notch past center when I saw them reflected in that truck's grille. A very small tape-on mirror would actually work very well for me as a short term...

Re: Brake Lights & Coding: Dash Indicator? Activation Level?

...they just needed a bit of guidance, but hey, how many people actually read their owner's manuals? Expect people to learn a new skill? Hey, it's a car, I can drive a car! ... they acquiesced to those that were complaining. Hey, when new, you need to tread softly. Jim, I understand the your subtle...

Re: Question on chargers including wireless

The Clipper Creek sounds like it is a good value. Wifi may be nice but only if PSE offers lower rates at night etc. Need to check. If not, make is simple. The i3 can also be set via the iDrive interface to charge during "tariff time slots." You can adjust the times and turn the feature on and off v...

Re: Security of the i3

OK then that is very reassuring that its a little more difficult that what I have seen on YouTube. Apparently there has been a number of thefts in Toronto area with some GM and Toyota vehicles so W-five did a segment on the news regarding this. Maybe since the i3 is so rare, its not a highly desira...

Re: Security of the i3

Paranoid much?

I don't want to live life like that.

Besides, who in their right mind would want to steal a bug-looking ugly little i3 that they don't have a charger for and nag you when you accelerate too quickly!

Re: 12V battery

This is the BS thing with these "smart" coded battery systems -- they don't work! From what I've been reading about the 12v battery on this and other i3 forums, you can expect 3 to 4 years of service from it. Rather than the system monitoring the battery's performance and providing a warning that it...

Re: AUTOBRAKE !! (yikes!)

At those speeds, auto-braking is disabled.

In my case, the car ahead was stopped.

AUTOBRAKE !! (yikes!)

I'm trundling along up a modest hill in the neighborhood after dark. The VW in front of me slows and stops for congestion. I'm not creeping but neither am I coming in hot. Just sort of regular, this side of quick. About simultaneously the "following too close" icon lights up, the car chirps its litt...

Brake Lights & Coding: Dash Indicator? Activation Level?

Through coding, has anybody found: Some sort of dashboard indication for when the brake lights are illuminated? I'm thinking there might be an engineering "test mode" of sorts that could be enabled to provide this information to the vehicle operator. A line to adjust the threshold of deceleration or...
