Re: Bay Area to L.A. in a REx...newbie seeks trip advice

You will get the hang of it. I am doing a 1600 mile round trip in my 2015 Rex in a few weeks.... temps in the teens and twenties in Montana... going from the Washington coast to Bozeman MT. Sea level to over 6000 feet. Should be interesting. Have fun!

Get the plugshare app and set the filters for your i3. CCS and J-1772. Read the comments on the various plugshare listings to see how reliable a station might be, or has been recently. When DC fast charging, sometimes it works better to hold the connector firmly to the car while the charger is initi...

Re: About The i3's Glass Liftgate...

The lexan with marguard is scratch resistant and does not yellow. I never had a problem with it... and it will not shatter like glass... which makes it superior as far as I'm concerned.... also, if it did get scratched it would be much cheaper to replace than glass.

Re: About The i3's Glass Liftgate...

I think Lexan with the mar-gard treatment would have been a better choice. I used this stuff once for a budget custom windshield on a 6" chopped roadster Karmann Ghia.

Re: Something Strange Happening

I would try de-selecting departure time to get rid of the fan icon. As far as I know, it is normal to have some dash lights stay on for a while after you exit the car.

Re: New 2019 120 Pack Operation

That's nice for you, but I could not afford that much battery, and tens of thousands of these cars have the smaller battery. In addition, since I only wanted to have one car for frugal reasons and also be able to take longer trips a couple of times a month the bigger battery would still require that...

Re: New 2019 120 Pack Operation

Even with pre-conditioning, I use my Rex more often in the winter (heat) because my typical round trip to town for groceries is about 65 -75 miles. I have the small 60 ah battery. The Rex is absolutely essential for me since I only have the one car and wish to be able to drive 300 or even 500 miles ...

Re: New 2019 120 Pack Operation

Hello... Why would you bother with starting the REX manually? Why not let it do its thing automatically? Flexibility. If you are waiting for it to engage at 7%, you have lost that. You are at the whim of a hill or high speeds that you did not expect. If you run your battery down that far the Rex ma...

Re: High Mileage 2017

If you want more range than the earlier cars, make sure this one does not have the smaller 60ah battery. Some 2017s did.
