Re: Squeak when straightening up

Yep, mine has done this since new but I can't work out what's making the noise. I had the car in last week (for something else) and asked them to look at it. They took it on two separate test drives and couldn't hear it and now that I've had the car back for a few days it's doing it again. Typical :(

Re: Parking brake

Even though I've had my car over 6 months I only learnt this yesterday as it was mentioned in Robert Llewellyn's video of the i8. Feel a bit daft for not figuring it out myself but seems I'm not the only one :P

Re: Delayed Charging mode.

Hi there.. i have noticed at 2 hours before the due charge period (1 am to 8am) the car seems to take a peek at the charger.. ie I hear the relay in my polar charger clunk on... then off... always happens... Same here, my charging is set to start at 1am and a lot of my 'charging interrupted' error ...

Re: Delayed Charging mode.

Hi Neil, Could you tell us what charging unit you're using please? I've had dozens of similar charging errors in the 6 months that I've owned my car. They were happening about a couple of times a week but on Monday I took my car in for a software update and since then.... charging errors have occurr...

Agreed.

I wasn't sure where it was but found this post explaining it in a bit more detail : http://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8695#p8695

Re: help! stuck by road with dead i3

Hi SanSerif, Sorry to hear about your problems. As we're scratching our heads, another of their chaps turned up and said "seen this before - stick 12v on the battery and we'll be able to turn off the handbrake and use the steering". So that's what we did - and it worked. Any chance you could go into...

Re: Delayed Charging mode.

Hi ericblz, That's interesting as it's very similar to what I'm experiencing too. When I first reported this earlier in the year my dealer took my car in for 6 days but they couldn't replicate the problem. They also replaced my BMWi wallbox but the problem persists so they ran out of ideas and have ...

Re: My crazy 670 miles in 24 hours!

Glad of some actual owner feedback thanks, I have kept record of mileage over last six months and longest day was 240 miles, so I think my REX will cope when it arrives would you agree nothing to worry about? Yes, nothing to worry about. So long as you're happy to stick to speeds of under 75mph you...

Re: My crazy 670 miles in 24 hours!

I borrowed a dealer car and maintained 76mph (on cruise control) over about a total of 120 miles (with a fuel stop) without losing any EV range, which maintained 35miles on the display. When I get mine in a few weeks we will be making a regular 260 mile round trip every 4-6 weeks. The trip in the d...

Re: i3 BEV vs. REx from owner of both

A couple of thoughts to help your vision, if only so very slightly. For a rarely if ever used, and never really needed REX, the REX owner has a significant cost tied up in the purchase price which will see depreciation, has higher maintenance costs (after warranty) if only for oil changes with no b...
