Re: What can you do about the REX NOISE???

LOL. :D I have noticed that if I'm at a stop light next to a large panel truck, or driving on a street with buildings closer to the curb, there seems to be an amplified sound bounce-back to the car, that people outside the car really don't hear. From a physics textbook - "Sound waves reflecting off ...

Re: What can you do about the REX NOISE???

I have to roll down the window to even decide if mine is actually running.

Re: Main battery "too high discharge" warning

I've seen that charging the new battery before installing it is the way to go. Definitely do that. Many new batteries ship with a low charge, and putting a 'new' battery in place of a failing battery, with the new one having a low charge can make the car throw all kinds of errors. One guy replaced ...

Re: Main battery "too high discharge" warning

However I can not find the Remy nor Deka 18L batteries to be bought nor shipped here in Spain. I have found a similar one: YUASA YTX24HL-BS. It is AGM, 12v, 340 CCA (not 330) and 20ah. Is the yuasa battery the right one for the i3 ? I guess a higher CCA is compatible or even better. The Dekka and R...

Re: ‘18 CPO Sold Minutes Before I Signed Sales Agreement

Nonetheless what that dealer did to you is extremely dishonest and very shady. You should report them to the BBB and make sure social media hears about it. The dealer did absolutely nothing dishonest or shady. The car was on the lot for sale. First person who pays for the car, gets the car. No car ...

Re: ‘18 CPO Sold Minutes Before I Signed Sales Agreement

Heck I’ve started by saying this will be an easy sale, no worries or hassles with a loan, poor credit score or anything else. I hand you a check, you hand me the paperwork and FOB. The salesman on the car today asked me on every call over the past 2 days if I’d gotten my credit app done or how much...

Re: Main battery "too high discharge" warning

Definitely looks like the typical warning that the 12v battery is failing. Change out the 12v ASAP. Once that warning appears, the battery can fail totally in a matter of days. When it does that, it is sometimes hard to get the car to 'wake up' again with the new battery.

Re: Front Tow Hitch Mounted License Plate

Eventually the tow-hook mounted license plate flexes/bends and scuff and scratch up the bumper anyway. Friend with one had the license plate pushed in so it made a nice gouge line in the bumper. I thought about it, then looking at his damage, just got the BMW i3 specific licence plate mount. Yes, yo...

Re: A wild EV appears!

The Tesla boards might be a better place to ask. Just be aware that out-of-warranty Tesla's are expensive to repair. Failed door handle - common issue - is $1,000. Failed Drive Unit, another somewhat common problem - $10K, though that should be covered under the eight year powertrain warranty. Just ...

Re: Normal for Used Dealer to Sent i3 to BMW Before Purchase?

Sounds minor. Charging malfunction is likely the charging socket locking pin. They fail/break sometimes and won't lock the charging handle into the socket. If the lock doesn't work, the car won't initiate charging. Sometimes they get out of alignment and work intermittently or when you wiggle around...
