Re: Fuel cost Reimbursement for unexpected service?

This is something that might start coming up in the future. I cant help thinking that there has always been the potential for a differential between the car going in for repair and the loaner, its just with EV's it will be a much bigger one! I hope it is sorted out soon for you. Although there have ...

Satnav Destination entry from phone contacts

I have just got my i3 and have a curious issue. I wanted to enter my own address and decided to use the entry from phones contact list. This seemed straightforward but when i hit ok my address appeared as Ukraine, not good as i live in Surrey in the UK! Has anyone else had this issue? I shall enter ...

Re: Golf gte or i3

I think its a bit unfair to say there is no comparison at all. In the UK at least the Golf and i3 are about the same price. They both have roughly equivalent range and while the Golf is longer its internal dimensions are comparable and it even has a fifth seat. BMW is much quicker though. They are b...

Re: Volkswagen pricing on the e-Golf for the US market $3544

A surprise, the i3 and E-Golf are almost the same price in the UK.

A bit dull looking to me, but perhaps thats the idea?

Re: Quit following - start leading

As regards the i8 the price differential in the uk is more like 30% more for the i8 not 50%. Furthermore the performance difference is 0.3 seconds which i would suggest is insignificant, however i would be surprised if the Tesla was faster on real roads involving corners. Finally coupe's and sports ...

Re: Quit following - start leading

Each manufacturer has strengths and weaknesses. Its not altogether surprising that Tesla are good at software given their background. That said BMW is leading in lightweight materials, efficiency, recycled materials and less energy intensive production. Arguably in design innovation too, although it...

Re: Basic Physics...

I was watching James May talk about city car on the TV last night (BBC2 9pm, its on iplayer) and something came up that seemed relevant. In the UK in the 60's and 70's it was possible to buy a basic car on a motorcyle license at a low cost. The government of the day strangely insisted cars in this c...

Re: Why not make the Remote App available for WindowsPhone?

I work in software. The reason is that about 5% will be Windows Phone users. If they sell 100,000 i3s, they'll have 5,000 WP users. Compare that to Android and iOS with something like 68.000 and 30,000 users, per hundred thousand. It doesn't make economic sense to develop for windows. Remember it's...

Re: i3 BEV vs. REx from owner of both

I am not sure depreciation would be worse with Rex. Given the battery performance will worsen over time on BEV and Rex alike, the range extenders greater flexibility would likely be a plus for a second owner? Also there is a lot more competition on pure BEV cars from leaf/Zoe/Golf/Up/B-Class with no...
