Re: Battery Replacement Under Warranty

The AC is critical for heat management. cooling the HV battery. If the those pics show that the previous owner drove the car with no AC in Arizona for several years, the HV pack could be toast - and BMW could easily deny any warranty on the HV battery, claiming the failure was due to owner negligenc...

Re: End of production

With over 200k i3's manufactured, I expect 3rd-party battery pack rebuilders to offer replacement modules and packs with new or good used cells. Ditto what Art posted. Though likely expensive - have heard HV battery swap numbers like $16,000 mentioned. Add to that the data on the HV batteries from ...

Re: Android Auto for 2019?

This outfit has an add-on box that plugs into the headhunt under the rear seat, to add both Carplay and Android . You might message them to see if compatible with the 2019 i3.

Re: i3 Motor/gearbox failure... help!

First off, that BMW rep telling you the design life of the car is 90K miles is total BS. You need to email or write the Managing Director of BMW UK with this info, as that person should be fired on the spot for making up cr@p like that while representing BMW. BMW has had media releases showing i3's ...

That pic looks a little different than what I'm used to in my i3. :P
Must be model year changes to the dash controls. :)

Re: Air conditioning failed

I'm not sure where the sensors are located but try re-directing the air vents. Cabin sensor is here . Looks like a small button below the left AC knob. The other sensor is inside the center vent. temp Sensor (1).gif The goal of the system is to get the cabin temp sensor reading and the center vent ...

Re: End of production

Yeah, this was posted on FB by a New Jersey BMW Dealer two days ago: I wish I had better news to report. July has been communicated as the final production month for i3 in the US market. The final month of ordering has eliminated HK sound due to the global chip shortages. The final remaining order s...

Re: Air conditioning failed

I have been reading this post "Air conditioning failed". In reading the BMW new vehicle warranty guide supplied with my i3, if your i3 is considered a TZEV and registered in the states of California, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Washington the electric a/c compressor is covered for 15 years and 150,0...

Re: Buying a used i3 94 Ah

Having looked around recently for 2019 BEVs, I can tell you that it's slim pickings and the prices are borderline ridiculous. Yeah, I don't know if it is the general market conditions right now, ie. new car limited inventory because of the chip shortage, used car limited inventory because of the pa...

If you are on FB you might try posting your question to the BMW i3 Modified Group. Several on there have done that upgrade. https://www.facebook.com/groups/BMWi3Modified
