Re: What does your "miles to empty" show when full?

Thanks for the replies! How much does extra passengers effect your range? My other vehicle is in the shop and I'm going on a trip with the whole family this weekend in the i3 for the first time. Total weight would be about 500 lbs (me, wife and 2 small kids). The trip is 80 miles so it's close to th...

Re: What does your "miles to empty" show when full?

Wow, then I'm showing a 40% increase on my estimated miles to empty. I'll have to set my trip meter and see if I'm getting anything near that. I'm guessing it's not that accurate. I would assume the EPA estimates are almost unrealistic best-case scenarios.

What does your "miles to empty" show when full?

I just bought a 2017 REX model a couple of weeks ago. My range will show 141 miles when full (comfort mode). I'm surprised it is much more than the 114 advertised. I realize this is based on driving habits, so I'm curious what everyone else shows for range after a "fill up". I don't drive like a gra...

Re: Tesla Charging stations

Oh, the salesman gave me incorrect information. Not surprising I suppose. He also told me I should go with a 2018 (was looking at a 2017 ) to go with the bigger battery.

Re: Chargepoint Questions

Does anyone have a Chargepoint charger at home and at work (your own business)? I'm wondering if I can use the same app for both chargers or if it would be better to go with a different brand.

Tesla Charging stations

I'm a new i3 owner and have a question about Tesla charging stations. I see that you can buy Tesla adapters and have read on forums about people using these stations. I'm wondering if anyone has ever gotten any crap from Tesla owners or maybe Tesla charging station maintenance people? The Tesla stat...

Re: Chargepoint Questions

Wow, that is crazy that some people are paying that much for electricity!

I am charging at 7.47 kW nos so that is awesome.

Random question...I have a friend with an RV, 30 amp 3 prong (standard I think). Would he be able to change his plug and plug into my 50 amp outlet when he visits?

Re: Chargepoint Questions

I've read on forums (maybe this one) that you should wait for the car to cool down before charging. Is this not needed then? The i3 automatically does this to some extent? It would be way more convenient of course if I didn't have to back out to the car. How long does it take to cool down anyway? On...

Re: Chargepoint Questions

3.82 kW is about 16A at 240V. Could you have told the car to use the "Reduced" charging rate? The Level 2 charger draws 32A/240V by default but if it is set to "Reduced" instead of "Maximum" it draws 16A/240V. Is this done in my car settings or somewhere in the chargepoint app? I looked through the...
