Re: Normal for Used Dealer to Sent i3 to BMW Before Purchase?

On the 'must be serviced at BMW' thing. I know at least two local non-BMW dealers that do that with at least any i3 that comes in, most electric/hybrids. They are aware that the car has a 440 volt HV battery and wiring harness, and don't want to have one of their mechanics electrocute themselves doi...

Re: Normal for Used Dealer to Sent i3 to BMW Before Purchase?

If one of the requirement was an inspection by the BMW Dealer, likely they didn't try to schedule the inspection until they were certain you were going to buy it, since the inspection will cost them a minimum of $300. And BMW Dealers are totally jammed up with service right now due to staff shortage...

Re: 2018 - BMW i3 Rex - NJ USA

Only for emissions equipment and related, ie. if it fails the emissions test, repairs to get it to pass are covered for 15 years/150K miles in those States - car has to have been purchased in, and be registered/licensed in one of those States, and fail that State's emission test. for the warranty to...

Re: Drivetrain Brake System Battery Discharge Warnings

I decided that DIY’ng the 12v battery will cost me more than just having it towed to the BMW service center, it cost about $750 total Just an FYI for newbee's seeing this - DIY i3 12V battery change out is usually under $200. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLZO7pB_uVg OEM ' AUX 18 L ' batteries ar...

Re: Stargard "Service" Required

Hi. I’m wondering if there is any recent information on locating the Stargard device and then removing the gadget from my 330i X? Normally they are Dealer installed. Usually they are installed near the main fuse block, as they tie into that for power. I think on the F30 series, that is below the gl...

Not sure, but you may need to be a paying member to post items there. That said, not sure this section gets viewed much - last posting was from 2019, . Have you tried checking with Carvana? Some have reported getting high offers for their car from them.

Re: How best to charge

What eNat posted :D The car automatically preconditions and cell balances when a) It is plugged in to charge, and b) you have set a departure time. This is all set up in the idrive menu - you can select days of the week and times for your departure, then what the car will do, is charge most of the w...
