Here is an interesting way to get more range and tow a trailer at the same time :)

Scroll down until you see the i3 towing a trailer :)

There's a good chance this is actually a self powered trailer so the i3 may not be towing it in the traditional sense.

When you click on the i3 photo you come to this page.

Below is the translation:
The all-electric caravan E.HOME Caravan from Dethleffs

What has been a vision of ours in recent years is now within reach. After many months of hard work, we were able to present a functional prototype of a fully electric, self-propelled caravan at the Caravan Salon 2019, which will soon tackle the big challenge of crossing the Alps. The team around the E.HOME Caravan makes every effort to turn the vision of the self-propelled caravan into reality.

Since this innovation of a self-propelled caravan not only reinvents the caravan, but also the trailer in general, there are also a number of fundamental questions for clarification: from the driving license issue to European registration guidelines. Such and other challenges are discussed in the Federal Association for Electromobility (BEM), of which the Erwin Hymer Group is now a member, and solutions are initiated.

We are active in the BEM working group "eMobility & Trailers", which deals with exactly such questions. Together with the relevant authorities, we hope to find practical, future-oriented solutions here.
