Hi,

Thanks to helpful peeps on this page, I was able to replace the keyfob batteries myself, which is great. But it keeps getting discharged every 3-4 weeks. Something has to be wrong, right?
I do my best to keep it out of the car's range when not in use (in an empty cookie tin) but no idea what else I could be doing wrong to discharge it so fast. Any ideas? 🙏

where are you getting your batteries?
do you have a voltmeter to test the battery voltage when "new" and when it stops working?

From my experience with i3s since 2014 the battery in the fob should last three to four years.

If yours is failing within a month I'd first suspect that the fob is bad (an internal short, etc.).

My second guess is that when you store your fob one of the buttons is inadvertently getting pressed and held for a long period which discharges the fob's battery.
