Anyone wondering what a high-mileage i3 looks like....

I’m really curious to see who has a pile of miles on their i3...?

I’m looking at battery cost as a factor right now. Not sure what that real life span may look like. Worst case they are $16k from BMW, and best case $6500 from salvage.

Anyone seeing issues?

I am looking seriously at the i3, but need to factor this cost. I plan to put 40k per year on my next vehicle so I’ll definitely put it through its paces. If i3 batteries die at 200k, that’s 60 months (or less on a used purchase) which adds $100+ per month to the cost of the vehicle to keep it in service.

So... who has the highest miles on their i3?

😜

Thanks!

The link you posted isn't opening. How many miles?

Here is one with 140,000 miles:

The interior doesn't show any signs of tears. A bit dirty, but it's a lighter color. Also, that looks like an easy clean.

As for the batteries, I have 73,000 miles on mine and haven't noticed any loss. Warranty goes to 100,000 miles, which means they are engineered for more than that.

Check out this article:

BMW i3 94ah Samsung battery rated for 524,000 miles. Yeah, I'm not too worried about the life expectancy of these batteries :)
