I'm wondering if BMW might make Online Entertainment available as software upgrade. It's currently available in the UK but is due to become available on other models in Ireland before my delivery date.

For those who don't know, Online Entertainment is a Spotify-like service (using Spotify competitor Rara's library) integrated into the Connected Drive system that uses the onboard Telematics modem to stream from the 'net.

Anyone hear anything about this?

No, but after my software update, I discovered the BMW "partnership" Widgets...kinda dopey; maybe you'll have better luck with the porn channel or whatever you had in mind.

And I just noticed that they giveth and taketh away--after last update, the Widgets are gone again. I understand from another post here that some right-clicking in Connected page will bring them back, but I'll let the dealer figure that out when I go back for my recalled gas tank vapor sensor.

You can watch TV and play movies on some models in Europe, but that is illegal in most US states, at least while moving. As a result, the options differ based on the local laws and expectations.
