Getting the fuel door not opening error, where de-pressurization stalls at either 25% or 50%, and the fuel door won't unlock, get the 'unable' message, and the check engine light on. Went to fill up at under half a tank and had it stall at 25%, used the manual release, and filled the tank, now get it stalling at 50% and won't unlock the door. Checked and cleaned the gas cap seal with no change. I'm assuming the pressure sensor, but looking up the service records, my 2015 had the pressure sensor replaced in 2017 with the previous owner. Anyone have one fail twice? Anything else that will cause the issue?

Looking at the TIS docs, the pressure sensor is now supposedly warrantied for 10 yrs, 120,000 miles. Tried looking for the error with Bimmerlink, but apparently Bimmerlink doesn't read/check that system.

Looks like you are covered state-side as mentioned up to 10 years 120k miles: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10145289-9999.pdf

Pretty sure it's not a DIY fix as the sensor has to be calibrated.

TFL ran into the same problem in California, and they were not covered under warranty for 10 years, but luckily were able to transfer the CPO warranty from the previous owner to get it fixed as the stealership wanted $1600+diagnostic fee.
