Where to position axle stands?

Hi all,

Just a quick question... where do i position axle stands if i want to lower my car off of a jack?

Want to replace my brake pads but worried the jack will fail.

Positioned the tyre under the car as a fail safe. But i have two axle stands i can use

Note that there are rubber and metal "pucks" available for BMW from the aftermarket, that fit into the hard rubber jack points and prevent them from getting mashed. Cheap insurance, especially when there are posts here about i3's being totaled due to jacking accidents.....

Baird, not exactly the answer you're looking for, but check out Art's post linked below. It's kind of a kludge but sounds workable for the i3's short, stiff chassis.
