The driver's side heated seat turns on, warms up and then goes off after a few minutes. It won't turn back on unless I restart the car (2014 BEV) I found a video on youtube with a guy who has the same problem. Seems he ruled out the controller under the seat by switchng it with the passenger side, but he didn't figure out what was wrong, choosing a makeshift solution instead. (powering it off the 12v cigarette lighter! how would that work if it normally runs on the high voltage battery??) I won't be taking it to the dealer. Is there a circuit breaker that gets reset when I turn the car off and back on? Thanks for any ideas!

I set the seat heat at it's lowest level and it stayed on for a 3 mile trip.

There are thermostats in the seat that will turn the actual heating on/off, but the indicator lights remain where you set them. Note, it won't stay on high forever, but will drop back. I've noticed that the LED indicators on mine sometimes don't light reliably, but the actual heating continues to work.

When on high, it would get hot and later I would notice it has gone cold and I would look and see the light is out. Pushing the button didn't do any good at this point. More recently I put it at the lowest setting and it continued to work as long as I wanted it to. It got plenty warm. I can live with that.

I have the same issue however mine only stays on for a few seconds and completely turns off.

Kortgeleden de dealer gevraagd een analyse te doen op aanhoudende uitval van de bestuurder stoelverwarming terwijl de auto geen storing meldde.
Kortsluiting in de zitting. Moet een nieuwe in. Kosten factuur 400,--. Nadien de oude zitting bekeken bleek het een constructie fout. Aansluiting van de 12V kabel bleek te zwak/te kort en breekt na x keer gebruik.

I have the same issue you described in your original post. I will try this see if it makes a difference on mine. I too have a 2014 BEV.

"Aansluiting van de 12V kabel bleek te zwak/te kort en breekt na x keer gebruik" Ist das 12V Kabel im Sitz? Etwas, das ich selbst reparieren kann?

It’s probably a seat heating line break and requires replacement of the lower seat cushion. My dealer quoted $1386.22 to fix the passenger side. The fault code is 32776.
