Looks like I managed to break one of the pins in the USB port in the center console. Found the replacement part easily enough as it seems to be a common part. Problem is, I have no idea how to remove the module. Talking to the dealership reveals the need for hours of labor to take apart the center console, while Google search mentions "it should just pop out" in forum posts of other BMW owners. Anyone have any tips? Would hate to pay hours of labor for something that should be so simple to do.

You have to pop the cup holder/I-drive trim panel off, remove the two screws under the upper trim and pull out the trim panel that holds the USB port and then pop the port out. It should take about 15 minutes.

I have the same problem. Car wash jammed the USB in and bent all the pins. Could anyone send a couple of pictures of what needs to get popped off and how?

Thanks.
