He mentions that it takes some time? to start to accelerate..? I thought the instant torque would eliminate this pause lag?..he goes onto mention after 50 kmh it really starts to pickup..

Similar to the ActiveE, the initial power is muted a bit until you get up to about 5mph. I suppose this is to eliminate wheelspin and also to possibly reduce the stress on the powertrain.
