Multimac for 3 kids

Sat May 25, 2019 1:38 pm

Anyone tried to convert the i3 into a car for 2 adults and 3 kids with Multimac?

Looks promising but the customer service sounds horrible...

Would love to hear about it from consumers:)
instead of payed reviews....

Have you thought of just doing three of the narrower/narrowest car seats and/or booster seats, or combo? The center one would just need to 'share' the two inside latch anchors of the car seats on either side. Or one or both of the outside seats could use the alternate seat-belt attaching method as almost all car seats are duel - can use latch anchors or the seat-belt.

The narrowest car seats are about 17 inches, and the width of the back seat, at its widest is just over 51 inches so a 'theoretical' fit. The armrests and curve of the door toward the seat take away from that, but depending on the shape of the car seats, and where the armrest hits them, could work. Might take some testing of a few at an agreeable store to see if three would actually fit. but might just be do-able.

Hi MKH

Not sure that I understand the question correct.

The super club junior is the one fitting for the i3 (https://www.multimac.com/p/superclub_3_seater)

At picture 2 (sliding top pictures) you see the super club junior fitted in a i3.

I have three kids age 10 months, 3 years and 6 years and would need the insertable minimac (https://www.multimac.com/p/minimac) for our youngest.

Did this reply you comment/question?

What I was getting at, is using three independent kid's car seats. I have seen a Honda Fit with a rear-facing baby seat, forward facing toddler seat, and an older child booster seat, all installed in the back seat. baby seat used the two latches on the left, toddler middle seat shared one latch with the left, an one latch with the right, and the booster seat used the right side seat-belt. I imagine there was some trial and error on which brands/models were narrow enough, and fit together jigsaw puzzle-wise enough to fit in the tight space. But the Multimac certainly makes it simple
