I love my dog, but I don't want her scratching up the leather seats. You can buy a pet barrier for a fair bit of money. Or you can get a section of pool fencing . Cut or bend it into shape and tie it to the headrests with two zip ties. Blanket on the floor and you're all set. No, it won't take a Great Dane, but it came in very useful when I had to take the Jack Russell for an emergency visit to the vet. When you no longer need it, just cut the zip ties.

I like it better than the ill fitting generic dog gates. But we had a manic Shih Tzu who would have (and did) squeezed through the gap on the sides, and probably would have ripped his eyeball out while trying if there was a stray wire in the way.

Come to think of it, he was about as hyper as a Jack Russell.
