Not found the solution yet. Looking for the older 10,25" screen to test if that one works in 1280 with hu_entrynav2

Same here. Got the 10.25" display from OPURADIO via AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33042157837.html

I found it by searching for the BMW part number: 9306743 and the Chinese manufacturer: CHIMEI INNOLUX. The typical shipping is $41.17 but I found that the "Free Shipping" offer (which costs a little more) had a shorter delivery time. The box arrived in about a week via FedEx.

I pried out the two caps on the top of the display with a very small screwdriver and only damaged them a little. I did the re-coding with BimmerCode, a "Veepeak OBDCheck BLE" (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073XKQQQW/), and my iPhone.

Through BimmerCode I changed two settings from:
HU_NBT / 3000 HMI / DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 6.5_800x480
HU_NBT / 3001 EXBOX / DISPLAY_VARIANTE = schmales_display
To:
HU_NBT / 3000 HMI / DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 10.25_1280x480
HU_NBT / 3001 EXBOX / DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

HU_ENTRYNAV2 > 3005 Display_pip_config > CID_DISPLAY_RES = 1440_54
HU_ENTRYNAV2 > 3005 Display_pip_config > CID_DISPLAY_SIZE = 10_25

HU_ENTRYNAV2 > 3005 Display_pip_config > CID_DISPLAY_RES = 1280_480.

All combinations gives "No Signal"

I bought the pre lci screen (ebay 9306743 CHIMEI INNOLUX) and tried the settings above but didn't succeed on my i3s - 2020.
All combinations gives "No Signal"

Don't understand why the HU_ENTRYNAV2 can't get signal on the old 10,25" nor the new 10,25"! other coding options?

Need help

HU_ENTRYNAV2 > 3005 Display_pip_config > CID_DISPLAY_RES = 1440_54

I think that is a typo since the resolution is 1440x540, not 1440x54.

Note: Starting 11/2017 they switched to a new model display: 6550-6842991 made by Kyocera.

Yes a typo 1440x540

I have tried both the new kyocera 10,25 and the old 10,25 (9306743 CHIMEI INNOLUX) but can't get signal.
Coding with only the parameters mention in this thread will not work with headunit HU_ENTRYNAV2

Based on posts on other sites for other BMW cars it looks like there are 10.25" displays that use 'spi' instead of 'MMI' and have a resolution of 1280x480 instead of 1440x540. Also, the color depth (bits per pixel) might be 18 or 24. Good luck figuring out which settings go with which display. :(

CID_APIX_Mode > apix1
CID_COLOR_DEPTH > 24
CID_COM_MODE > spi
CID_DISPLAY_RES > 1280_480
CID_DISPLAY_SIZE > 10_25

CID_APIX_MODE=apix1
CID_COLOR_DEPTH=18
CID_DISPLAY_RES=1280_480
CID_DISPLAY_SIZE=10_25
DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION=10.25_1280x480
CID_COM_MODE=spi

Been doing some searching in hopes to help you find some answers. I’ve seen some similar posts on other bmw forums regarding a similar issue.. might also be worth posting there as well

Might require some reading, but similar issue reported around the no signal message.

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone had sorted out whether the 10.25" Kyocera screen (from a 2018 and newer i3) can be retrofit into a 2018 and newer i3 that came with the small screen, and if so, what the steps were to make it work.

I was able to upgrade my screen. I have a 2018 i3S.

The innolux? screen may still be an option depending on when BMW cut over to the new electronics for the 2018 model year. My I3, although a 2018, was still sporting the NBT_ENTRYNAV version of the infotainment. Later on, it seems they switched over to ENTRYNAV2... My guess perhaps to support their updated Idrive version and carplay. That said, check your nav version, if you have ENTRYNAV, you should be good to go with upgrading to the larger screen which can be readily found on aliexpress for $400 USD. If you're on ENTRYNAV2, then you're SOL at the moment until someone figures out how to code the screen upgrade properly.

Interesting. I assume you upgraded your 5.5" inch screen to 10.25" Innolux screen (65509306743) in your 2018 i3, and it works. Did the programming include anything else than changing the display resolution and type ?

Do you know the production month of your i3 ?

My build is dated 02/2018.

The biggest key will be whether you have entrynav or entrynav2. If you have entrynav you’re good to upgrade. I followed this guide for the coding.. https://www.google.com/amp/s/electric.guide/electric-cars/bmw-i3-nav-screen-upgrade-diy/amp/

After doing the upgrade I kept wondering why BMW made the smaller screen so darn ugly with those bezels. I didn’t mind the size to be honest, I minded how ugly those thick plastic bezels looked 😁

Follow-up: Installed Chimei Innolux to early 2018 model with ENTRYNAV, and it works.

I have a bmw G30 with EntryNav2, I tried to run the 10.25 'monitor but to no avail, I tried many variants of the coding but I still have "No Signal" can anyone tell me what the coding for this set should be?
Here is the CID number: BMW LK CID 10.25 KYD 681051103

I just upgraded last night. Purchased it on AliExpress, coded it with bimmercode and was done in 10 min!

Such a huge difference, I have owned my i3 for about a month now and couldn’t stand the small screen. I couldn’t stand the huge bezels on the 6.5” it drove me insane lol

Not only is it more aesthetically pleasing but the wider screen allows it to be more useful with all the options on the idrive. This will be especially true once I install CarPlay.

Just curious: What method do you plan to use to install Carplay?

Bought the interface module from eBay. I did the same to my 6 series with CIC. It’s wireless CarPlay which is awesome.
