Hello there,

I've just purchased a 2018 94Ah REX which I'm delighted with.

I'm based in Scotland and I'll be putting on a set of the official winter wheel/tyres during the winter months.

There will be some journeys when I'd like the peace of mind of having a 'proper' spare wheel/tyre in the back.

I wanted to check if something like this...

https://tyremen.co.uk/product/18-bmw-i3-2017-2021-space-saver-spare-wheel-kit/

... could be used as a replacement for any of the wheels at any time in the year - just to get me home or to a tyre fitter.

Would welcome any advice!

Many thanks,

Simon

It appears it would. The 18" wheel clearing the brakes would be my concern, but because they're advertising it specifically for the i3, I presume that's been checked.

The stock front tire is only 10 mm wider (155). In my case, I bought a matching stock (front) wheel and tire from a salvage yard, and carry it for some longer drives. It'll work indefinitely in any position.

Note the Jack included with that kit does not appear to have a standard BMW adapter. I purchased a second hand BMW jack from eBay which has the BMW adapter head built in.
