Hello,
My i3 underwent some work in July this year (new petrol engine following a mistake at service by a BMW dealership, and secondly the KLE replaced under recall at the same time).
A few weeks ago the car stopped charging and was tripping out charging ports. This was the first drive where the range extender was used for a long period since the original repair. BMW have now diagnosed the problem being the EME, and saying a new EME is needed at extortionate cost.
My question is; could the replacement of the KLE be responsible for the EME developing a fault? I know that the two are connected when viewed in a diagram of circuits within the car.
If anyone has examples of this, then that will help me argue the case with BMW.
Thanks
